Nursery school located in Adachi-ku, Tokyo. The site is a greenbelt under a high pressure line sandwiched between two high traffic roads. Although it cannot be said to be a privileged environment, with its surrounding housing complex and pylons, we wanted to make the most of the site’s potential as a vacant green space in a dense city. So, we placed two volumes along the road and created a hall sandwiched between them. The hall opens up to the north side of the schoolyard to provide ventilation and lighting all year round. Children can run around in the hall. We aim to create a nursery school where everyone can spend their time with peace of mind by keeping a moderate distance from the neighborhood.
